Eco-friendly practices in action
We are dedicated to minimising our environmental impact. Our commitment starts with the tools we use, ensuring that our operations are as kind to nature as possible. We utilise professional battery-powered equipment for reduced emissions and noise pollution, alongside Aspen fuel in our larger saws for cleaner combustion. We also use biodegradable oil around water courses to protect aquatic ecosystems from contamination.
Protecting local wildlife
The safety of local wildlife is paramount to us. Before we start any tree work, we conduct a comprehensive assessment for bird nests and other wildlife habitats. We inspect trees to ensure no harm comes to resident animals. In cases where there is no risk to the public, we make a point of leaving deadwood in place, providing habitats and food sources for various species, contributing to the biodiversity of the Stroud Valleys.
Recycling and repurposing wood
After a job is complete, nothing goes to waste. We ensure all wood and tree materials are recycled. Wood chips are often used on the King George playing field in Nailsworth, enriching the soil and suppressing weeds. Recently, we have also been offloading wood to create 'dead hedges', which are fantastic for wildlife, offering shelter, nesting sites, and a continuous supply of decaying organic matter, further enhancing local ecosystems.
Supporting nature and community
Our commitment extends beyond professional tree care to supporting the local community, the wider natural environment and peoples' health too. We are proud to engage in charity work that combines our passions. Joseph, for instance, merged his love for climbing trees and playing the piano by rigging an electric piano into a tree to create a video, all in aid of the charity 'Mind'. This demonstrates our dedication to giving back and raising awareness for important causes.
